More Bible verses on…..”’not of works’ are we saved but by God’s Grace!! In other words, not from our own physical efforts can we find forgiveness of sins and redemption but only by our faith in who Jesus Christ is and in what He has done for us.

Why do we insist on getting it wrong!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? If it’s not of works as Scripture says, then there is not one 100,000,000th million of one percent of one drop of good works, law, our own goodness or our own physical efforts….no not nada. It only is 100% of the Holy Righteousness of the Son of God and nothing and no one else. We can not include nor depend on anything else other then the shed blood of Christ for the remission of sins. Check out these following verses to continue our study from the previous page on “For by grace are we saved by faith.”

2 Timothy 1:9, “who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,”

saved - being forgiven of our sin, being redeemed by our faith in the blood of Christ, being delivered from our condemnation and damnation in an eternal Hell.

called - God’s Holy Spirit working in our spiritual heart and soul to invite us to have our name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, to stand with the redeemed legions singing praises to His Holy Name and to convict us of His desire of how He wants us to serve Him and His Kingdom; this is a privilege.

according to His own purpose and grace - our being saved and called is God’s plan, God’s work, God’s will, God’s power; not our’s…salvation is by faith in the grace of God.

Galatians 2:16, “knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.”

not justified - righteousness; we are not made righteous by works of the law.

works of the law - our physical efforts to the best of our abilities to fulfill and keep the O.T. Law in order to feel “right/justified” before God and to have the chance (in our humanity) of not being condemned for our sins.

Titus 3:5, “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,”

mercy - grace is the unconditional love of God; mercy is God not doing unto us as we deserve.

washing of regeneration and renewing - like the rivers of water that run endlessly deep within the bowels of the earth, forever flowing - ceaseless; is the work of God’s Holy Spirit within our soul and Spirit when we are saved from our sins, forgiven of our sins, redeemed from a harmful and sinful lifestyle, when we acknowledge our sins and that only who Jesus is and what He has done for us can cleanse us from ALL sin…….then we are reborn, regenerated, renewed and spiritually washed/forgiven of our sins.

Romans 5:8-10, “8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”

Christ died for us - Jesus willfully chose to die on the cross and shed His blood for the remission of our sins. That which sustains life, “blood”, must be given in redemption for that which destroys life, “sin”.  Hebrews 9:22

justified by His blood - simply put, we are made righteous, we are given the right to stand in front of the One and Only Eternal Holy God when we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and that His shed blood redeems us from sin.

saved from wrath - we are forgiven and saved from the penalty of sin which is an eternality in Hell, a fiery lake of burning sulfur.  Rev. 21:8

reconciled to God - not to experience the judgement of God in this world as well as the Spiritual world to come, Heaven. Being reconciled, we walk and talk with Him, He is our Father, Savior, Friend and Comforter. We are freely able to give all glory/honor and praise to His Name. God is Love - He first Loved us.
