John 8:36 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

In Jesus Christ, we are set free from the penalty, power and presence of sin. We are set free from the penalty of sin because we are forgiven and redeemed through our faith in Christ and therefore free from the condemnation and punishment we deserve because of our sin. We are set free from the power of sin because, if Christ abides in us and we abide Him, live and grow in Christ, then sin no longer holds control and power over us. We are set free from the presence of sin because it does not exist in Heaven, in Glory, in Paradise. We will know this and experience this only if we are set free from the penalty of sin. But to “be free indeed” in the here and now is to know the true meaning of freedom in Christ. True freedom in Christ means we are able to release anything that hinders us from doing what is necessary to do what God desires of us to further His Kingdom. This means that: “our hands are not tied” “we are not tied down” “we are not restrained” by our own traditions and opinions that keep us from growing and going in different and new ways to create change that creates outreach groups. This can only take place by the work of the Holy Spirit within our spirit. Truth number five is that the pastor has to lead the congregation to experience true freedom in Christ so that the church will do whatever it takes to reach others for Christ. (“whatever”)
