Philippians 1:3-6 3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,

6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”

We are walking alongside outreach group members to cultivate and establish the local leadership as we model and assist in starting new groups. We must be willing to leave the leadership of the new outreach group in the hands of local believers.  “We must have confidence in them and confidence in God to work through them.”    (S & NCPM, p. 15)

1 Corinthians 1:26-29
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.”    (S & N CPM, p. 16)

Other passages on this topic are:
1 Corinthians 12, 13, 14; Ephesians 4:11 – 16 & 1 Peter 2:9 – 10.
If outreach group leaders are to see growth among the community’s small groups, he/she must be open to allowing everyone to be involved in the ministry and leadership of their small groups.   (S & N CPM, p. 17)
