John 1:35-42 The First Disciples - "Operation Andrew”
35 Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. 36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”

37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38 Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?” 39 He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour). 40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah.[i] You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone). ! Here we find the focus of “Just Be A Friend” ministry in John 1 as Andrew brings his brother, Simon, to Christ. The preceding and following truths join to and add to this seventh truth, “Operation Andrew” which is understood here as “Just Be A Friend”. The following chart or card gives detail to how to “Just Be A Friend” in Jesus’ Name and of bringing someone to Christ as Andrew did. The card has ten spaces to write the names of ten friends you can pray for each day. These ten friends are inactive church members or they live in your church’s community but do not go to church anywhere or they live anywhere but are known to you as a regular acquaintance and to your knowledge are Spiritually lost. This card can be kept in your Bible to remind you and to help you pray for them. Also, the card has suggestions for leading these friends to Christ and discipling them in Christ before and after their decision to receive Christ. This card or chart incorporates PRAYER, DISCIPLESHIP and EVANGELISM. The BIG THREE are all right here in this one resource.
